Formwell ยท About
A form builder that behaves like a page of questions.
Formwell is a document-style form builder. You write the questions the way you would write them in a brief, give each line the answer it takes, and publish one link. The answers come back as rows you can read and copy into the work.
Formwell in one line
Ask plainly. Publish one link. Read the rows.
Who it is for
Small teams that run the work themselves.
Formwell is built for solo founders, and for agencies and consultancies of two to five people, where the person who writes the intake form is also the person who reads the answers that come back.
Their forms are part of the work rather than a system beside it: a client brief, a project kickoff, a round of feedback after a deliverable, a sign-up for an evening they are running.
- Client intake and project briefs, answered before the first call.
- Onboarding a new client: the details you would otherwise chase by email.
- Feedback after a project, collected in one place instead of across threads.
- Event and workshop sign-ups, with the names and the answers on one page.
How it works
Four steps, and the second one is the only one that takes thought.
Title the page
A title and a sentence of intro, and the form already reads as yours rather than as a template you filled in.
Write the questions as lines
One per line, the way they would appear in a document. Paste them in if you already have them written down, or describe the form in a sentence and edit the draft that comes back.
Give each line an input type
Formwell reads the wording and picks one of seven. Change any that are wrong, add the help lines, mark the answers you cannot work without.
Publish, then read the rows
One link to share; every answer arrives against the question it belongs to, and copies out into the place the work continues.
What we hold to
Three things that do not change from one release to the next.
Free carries real work
Unlimited forms and unlimited responses, for as long as you use it โ not a trial of either, and not a form or two before a wall.
The page stays quiet
Questions in order, one under another, with nothing between the visitor and the answer they came to give.
Answers belong to the reader
Every response is a row you can read, copy, and carry into the document where the work carries on.
